Why do I do it?
love, truth & food was envisioned and brought to be for the sole reason of helping people make food choices that they are proud of. Choices that are not limited based on time or other commitments. Food choices that allow individuals and families to provide healthy home cooked meals without fusing over the details needed to make them. I want wholesome foods to be the standard, but without you having to give up building connections with your loved ones, without feeling overwhelmed while trying to keep work and home thriving or without feeling able to taking some well needed time for yourself. I want you to feel empowered to make the food choices that are right for you and your family and if I can help make that happen, even better!
About Me
My name is Alysha and I have started love, truth & food because I want to share the knowledge, experience and passion I have developed over the past few years. A few years ago I noticed that my understanding of food and eating became extremely challenged. Every year new studies, new fads, new tricks, and new tips come out that tell us how to “eat well”. And for a long time, I followed what I could make sense of (read, was marketed best), and left the rest behind, and it was working. But after moving into adulthood, trying to keep up as a mother in the real world, and working in sales and marketing, I realized a lot of what I considered “healthy” was just someone else’s sales pitch. After that, I started trying to really think about the food I was eating, the way I was treating my body, what is really important to me, and how to use this new information to help others live their best life and avoid the "healthy food sales pitch". I am not a doctor, or a trained chef, but I believe the food we eat can heal us or hurt us. And the choice of what to eat should belong to each person, without the incredible pressure being put on consumers to trade their health for someone else’s profits. So, I am here, hoping to empower humans around me to think about, understand and enjoy the food they eat and serve their families. Because, as the saying stands, we are what we eat, shouldn't we eat the best we can?
